This provides the buyers and suppliers the ability to capitalize on the latest Internet technologies to create e-Marketplaces and in the process gain from the infinite opportunities of this network.

Our alliance with reputable technology partners, such as PurchasePro who specialize in providing e-Procurement solutions to the hospitality and leisure industry in America and National Computer Systems (NCS) who with their large hosting facilities, enable our customers to create and enable their own
e-Marketplaces. Additionally, strategic investment partners such as UOB and Singtel help expand our research and development efforts and market penetration.

2. How much investment will I need to install HospitalityCity's e-Procurement solution for my business?

HospitalityCity creates and maintains e-Marketplaces for our customers. Our team of highly skilled professionals will consult and recommend the best and most effective approach to meet your unique business requirements. We also take care of the whole implementation process which includes enabling the buyers and suppliers.

There is a set-up cost and transaction fee required for Hotel properties. The price depends on the size of the property and the volume of transactions which takes place.

There will be a monthly fee for suppliers for the creation of supplier catalogs, implementation, consultancy as well as for the ongoing maintenance of the hardware, software and database.

To enjoy the tangible and intangible benefits of this system, all you need is a PC with Internet access. There are also various funding schemes from Government bodies to help finance up to 50% of the buyers' and suppliers' investment cost.

3. How secure is this system?

The Internet is now a globally accepted and proven means for e-business to be conducted in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments. The Singapore Government has passed and legislated laws to govern transactions over the Internet.

HospitalityCity is an independent business service provider who creates and enables e-Marketplaces. As such, we have no vested interest in your business data. Our software is a proven and tested solution that has been installed in a large number of hotel chains and thousands of suppliers in the US. Its inbuilt capabilities of accepting security codes and passwords ensure that the end-user decides who has access to the data and applications. We host our software with reputable hosting partners such as NCS. This ensures that your data is treated with the highest level of security and confidentiality.

4. How do I join and what steps do I have to take to get the system to work?

In the public e-Marketplace, both the buyers and suppliers can join and benefit from the large pool of members to find new business opportunities. All the buyer and supplier need to do is to sign the membership agreement and pay the subscription fee to join this public e-Marketplace.

In the private e-Marketplace the buyer will have to sign an agreement to pay for the
set-up costs and the supplier will need to sign the supplier agreement form. This membership fee is for the creation and maintenance of catalogs as well as for the hosting of the hardware, software and database.

The buyer will need to provide a task force team and appoint an end-user to use the system. Top down commitment is necessary to make this system work. Policies and procedures are required to ensure procurement transactions are executed within the system.

The supplier needs to provide the latest catalog and ensure that they have a PC and Internet access. Staff members will need to be sent for training.

5. What are the benefits of working with HospitalityCity?

HospitalityCity has a proven track record in this region. We have worked with buyers and suppliers to provide e-Marketplaces which meet their specific and unique business requirements. Our team of experienced professionals is familiar with the hospitality and leisure industry. Utilizing proven software technologies from the US, HospitalityCity is able to help our customers create private e-Marketplaces so that they are able to work closely and efficiently with their business partners to increase the productivity and profitability of their business. HospitalityCity provides the hardware and software infrastructure and professional services to benefit buyers and suppliers in three distinct e-Marketplaces.

Buyers can create their own e-Procurement Marketplace to link their preferred suppliers. This enables them to conduct business transactions more effectively over the Internet. Suppliers can increase their business opportunities by capitalizing on the network to reach more buyers. This establishes better rapport and business relationship with their existing buyers. Buyers and suppliers will experience considerable cost saving with significant reduction of manual paperwork and traditional equipment such as fax machines.

Larger suppliers and distributors can also create their own v-Distributor e-Marketplace to efficiently link their business partners together and to enjoy economies of scale in inventory and logistics management.

Buyers and suppliers can also establish their proprietary e-Marketmaker e-Marketplace and build a business model to help members interact and transact by value-adding to the supply chain.
